Before performing Ops operations on target hosts through BH, you need to add the hosts to the BH system, including adding host assets, binding BH services, and configuring host account information and passwords.
This document covers the full lifecycle management of host assets, including adding a single host, syncing Tencent Cloud hosts, importing cross-cloud hosts online, importing hosts in batches based on templates, managing assets, and editing and deleting hosts.
Operation Overview
|
| Automatically pull existing CVMs under the current Tencent Cloud account to the BH host asset list. |
| Add a host asset by manually entering configuration information such as the IP address and operating system. |
| Import host assets from other cloud vendors such as other Tencent Cloud accounts and Alibaba Cloud to BH in batches by pulling them online through cloud accounts or uploading CSV templates. |
| Bind a host asset to a specified BH instance so that it can be managed through the BH. Unmanaged host assets only exist in the list and cannot be accessed for actual Ops. |
| Add host assets to asset groups for unified management and permission assignment. |
| When a host no longer needs to be managed through BH, it can be deleted from the asset list. |
Synchronizing Host Assets
After you purchase and activate the BH service, you can use the asset sync feature to pull CVMs under the current Tencent Cloud account to the host asset list with one click. After the sync is complete, bind the hosts to quickly complete asset onboarding.
Note:
Asset type to sync: CVM.
To enable automatic sync, you must first authorize the role. Follow the console instructions to complete the role authorization.
1. Log in to the BH console. In the left sidebar, choose Asset Mgmt > Servers. 2. On the Host Assets page, click Sync assets. The system will automatically pull the CVM assets under the current account.
Note:
After asset sync is complete, add the BH IP address to the security group of the target CVM to ensure network connectivity between the BH and the target asset.
Adding assets
This method is suitable for managing a single host asset in a basic network or outside Tencent Cloud. You can add the host by manually entering its IP address and operating system information.
Note:
If you need to access assets across VPCs, IDCs, or outside Tencent Cloud, ensure network connectivity between the BH and your assets, for example through network domains, Direct Connect, CCN, or Peering Connection. These network access methods are billed separately. For details, see the billing documentation of the corresponding products.
1. Log in to the BH console. In the left sidebar, choose Asset Mgmt > Servers. 2. On the Host Assets page, click Add assets.
3. In the Add Host dialog, configure the host information as described in the following table:
|
Asset IP | Enter the IP address of the host asset. |
Operating system | Select the operating system type of the host. |
Management port | Enter the management port of the host. |
Asset name | Enter a custom host asset name. If no name is entered, the system will generate one automatically. |
4. After configuring the host information, click OK to complete the creation.
Importing Host Assets
BH supports importing host assets from other Tencent Cloud accounts or external cloud providers such as Alibaba Cloud for unified management, enabling centralized Ops and audit across accounts and clouds.
Note:
Supported host assets for import:
Alibaba Cloud: ECS, Cloud GPU Service, and Elastic Bare Metal Server assets.
Tencent Cloud: CVM, CBM, TencentOS Server, and other Tencent Cloud host assets.
Prerequisites
The cloud account used for importing assets must have the following API permissions: DescribeRegions and DescribeInstances.
Operation Steps
1. Log in to the BH console. In the left sidebar, choose Asset Mgmt > Servers. 2. On the Host Assets page, click Import Asset.
Online Import
1. In the Import Asset window, configure the following host information:
|
Import Method |
| Select import method for CVMs: Pull CVM assets from the cloud provider through cloud asset accounts. |
Cloud account |
| Select the account method for importing CVMs: Use a new cloud account: If you select this option, enter the cloud provider, cloud account name, SecretId, and SecretKey. After the assets are imported, the system saves the account information to the cross-cloud account management module for subsequent account management and automatic asset synchronization. Select existing cloud account: Select a cloud account that you have added. You can manage and maintain the account on the cross-cloud account management page. |
Use a New Cloud Account. | Cloud Vendor | Select the cloud service provider to which the asset belongs. Currently, Tencent Cloud and Alibaba Cloud are supported. |
| Cloud Account Name | Customize the cloud account name (for subsequent identification and management). |
| SecretId,SecretKey | If the cloud provider is Tencent Cloud, enter the SecretId and SecretKey of your Tencent Cloud account in the corresponding input fields. If the cloud provider is Alibaba Cloud, enter the SecretId (AccessKey ID) and SecretKey (AccessKey Secret) of your Alibaba Cloud account in the corresponding input fields. Attention: Ensure that the account has the permissions to call the DescribeRegions and DescribeInstances APIs. Otherwise, asset information cannot be pulled. |
Asset Sync Region |
| Select the region where the assets to be synchronized are located (such as Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing). |
Department |
| Select the department to which the asset belongs. (The department feature is available only to customers who need it. To enable it, submit a ticket to contact us.) |
2. After completing the configuration, click Next to go to the "Confirm Asset Import" step.
Note:
You can import up to 500 assets at a time through Asset Management. To import more assets, go to Hybrid Cloud Account Management to add an account before importing. 3. The system automatically pulls the cloud host assets of the corresponding account and region and displays the list of assets to be imported. After confirming that the information is correct, click OK to complete the host asset import.
Importing from a Template
1. On the Import Asset page, select Import Template File as the import method and click Download to obtain the asset import template provided by the system.
2. Open the downloaded template file and fill in the asset information as required by each column.
|
Host IP | Required. Enter the IP address of the host asset to be imported. |
Operating System | Required. Enter the operating system type of the host. Only Linux or Windows is supported. |
Management port | Required. Enter the port of the host asset to be imported. |
Host Name | Enter a custom host identifier name. If no name is entered, the system will generate one by default. |
3. Save the completed template as a .csv file, click Upload, and select the local template file to upload.
4. After the upload is successful, click Next to go to the "Confirm Asset Import" step. The system will display the list of assets to be imported from the template.
5. After confirming that the IP address, operating system, port, and other information are correct, click OK to complete the import.
Managing Host Assets

4. After making the changes, click OK to save the changes.
Deleting Host Assets
When a host no longer needs to be managed through BH, you can delete it from the asset list.
Note:
The deletion operation only removes the host from the BH asset list and releases the management relationships of all accounts under the host. It does not affect the running status of the target host.
